There will be no charge for accompanying children who are younger than camp age. For those children who are camper age, we will offer a $20 discount off the normal fee. Should that charge be a financial hardship for your family, please enclose a letter with this application explaining your family circumstances, and we will recommend your child for complete or partial funding under our bursery program. This request will remain confidential.

Volunteers who apply to be leaders at West Haven must go through a screening process which includes a questionnaire sent to references, a personal interview by one or more members of the Program Committee ( either at staff orientation or at another mutually agreed upon time), and provide a Certificate of Conduct. Upon receipt of this application, we will provide you with a letter stating that you wish to be a volunteer with West Haven. You should take this with you to the RNC/RCMP and attach it to your application for your Certificate of Conduct so that you will not be charged the $25 fee.
Please name two references who could evaluate your suitability for a position as camp leader. The persons named should have known you for at least 3 years. They could be your Minister or another church leader, camp director, employer, teacher, or other community leader. Relatives may not be used.

Staff Training:
There will be training provided for all volunteer and paid staff. It is very strongly recommended that all volunteers attend as it prepares you for what your role is at camp and gives you the opportunity to meet others who will be at camp with you. Orientation for leaders will take place July 3 at 4:30 pm to July 5 at 4 pm.
A Canoeing Course ( 2 day CRCA)will be offered at West Haven. The cost of this course is of $55 with accommodation and meals included. A First Aid Course ( 2 day Canadian Red Cross standard first aid) will be offered in Corner Brook , at a time & place to be announced. Cost of that will be $55. If you are interested in either of these, please indicate below. Registration is limited, so applicants will be accepted on a first come first served basis. You will be contacted prior to the start of the course.
