MR. RAYMOND VINCENT
Mr. Raymond Vincent, the
father of Rev. Roberta Vincent-Bungay and father-in-law of Rev. Lorne Bungay,
passed away Thursday, July 17, 2008. The funeral service took take place from Trinity
United Church , Newtown on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at 2:00 pm. Please keep
Roberta and Lorne and their family in your thoughts and prayers.
THE REV. JOAN SHORT
Retired clergy, Rev. Joan Short passed away June 16, 2008 at
the Health Science Center. Rev. Short has served many of our Pastoral Charges
in Newfoundland and Labrador including Whitbourne, Glovertown, and Harbour
Grace. She was Director and Chairperson of Burry Heights Camp and Retreat
Center and also served in other district capacities. The funeral service was held at Gower
Street United Church on Friday, June 20 at 10:00 am. Please keep Joan’s family and
friends in your thoughts and prayers.
MRS. MILDRED WINSOR
Mrs. Mildred Winsor, widow of Rev. Naboth Winsor, passed away on Monday, June
2, 2008. The funeral service took place from Coughlan United Church,
Harbour Grace on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at 2:00 pm. Please keep the
Winsor family in your thoughts and prayers.
MRS. HELEN
GUZZWELL
The mother of the Rev. David Guzzwell, Mrs. Helen Guzzwell, passed away May
21, 2008 at the Agnes Pratt Home. The funeral service took place from Barrett’s
Chapel on Monday, May 26, 2008 at 2:00 pm with interment at Mt. Pleasant
Cemetery. Please
keep David and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
MRS. LILLIAN MURDOCH
Mrs. Lillian Murdoch, wife of Lay Supply Minister,
Mr. Jack Murdoch, passed away Thursday May 8th in Corner Brook.
She was 79. Her
funeral took place Saturday afternoon May 10th,
from the Salvation Army Citadel, Deer Lake.
Major Lindsay Oxford conducted the Service. Jack served as a
Lay Minister in our Conference.

THE REV. FRED HICKMAN
The
Rev. Fred Hickman passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at St. Patrick’s Mercy
Home, St. John’s. The funeral service took place from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Friday, May 16, 2008 at 2:00
p.m. with interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Please keep his
wife, Jean, and their families in your thoughts and prayers.
THE REV HAROLD IVANY
The Reverend Harold Ivany, Minister Emeritus, Wesley United Church passed
peacefully away at Agnes Pratt Nursing Home May 5, 2008. He was in his 96th
year. He leaves to mourn daughters Olga (Bill Brake) and Cynthia; grandson
Scott Brake (Carol Ann), granddaughter Donna (Jeff Martin); five
great-grandchildren Dylan, Kia, Mark, Emma and Peter; special family friend
Linda Fallon; also a large circle of relatives and friends.
The funeral service took place May 8, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from Wesley United
Church, Patrick Street with a private internment.
THE REV. ALBERT LAYDEN
The
Rev. Albert Layden passed
away Thursday night, April 24, 2008, at the Health Science Centre, St. John's.
His family were with him at the time.
His
funeral took place from Victoria
United Church at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 28th, 2008.

Nancy Brown, wife of the Rev. Bill Brown (Interim Minister - Gower,
2003-2005), died recently in Ottawa . Some of you will remember Bill and Nancy
from his time in the Newfoundland and Labrador Conference in the East

MR. WALLACE
HISCOCK
On April 16, 2008, Mr. Wallace Hiscock, the brother of The Rev. Boyd Hiscock
and brother-in-law of The Rev. Wallace Baker passed away in Sandford ,
Connecticut . His funeral took place in Connecticut on April 19,
2008. Please hold Rev. Hiscock and Rev. Baker and their families
close as they go through the pain of grief.
LENI SIMONA GROENEVELD
Leni
Simona Groeneveld passed away at her home in Halifax on Monday, April 21,
2008. As many of you are aware, Leni was the Executive Director and
Secretary to the Board of Governors of Pine Hill Divinity Hall, Halifax.
The funeral service was held in St. Andrew’s United Church , Halifax on
Thursday, April 24 at 11:00 am. Please keep Leni’s family in your
